Tour Plan

Day 1 Zhinvali, Ananuri, Gudauri, Kazbegi

Our journey today begins with a Gudauri tour, a road trip that spans approximately 3 hours. Our route will take us towards Ananuri.

On the road, we will make a stop at the Jinvali Water Reservoir, a hydroelectric dam situated on the Aragvi River. The reservoir, constructed in 1985 by the Soviet Union, serves as a crucial water supply system for the population of Tbilisi. Despite its tragic history hidden beneath its waters, the reservoir has become a popular tourist destination, known for its captivating landscape.

Continuing our exploration, we will visit the Ananuri Fortification Complex, an impressive castle complex located along the Aragvi river. Notably, in 2007, the complex was under consideration for inclusion in the UNESCO World Heritage site program. Following our visit to Ananuri, our journey proceeds to Gudauri, where you will have free time with the option to partake in various activities such as paragliding. Having enjoyed our time in Gudauri, we will resume our journey to Stepatsminda, complete hotel check-in, and refresh for the adventures planned for the next day.

Overnight stay will be at the hotel in Gudauri / Stepatsminda.

Day 2 Gergeti Trinity Church, Jvari, Svetitskhoveli Cathedral

Our day begins with an enriching exploration of the Gergeti Trinity Church, a testament to spiritual beauty. Perched majestically on a hill, this iconic site not only commands panoramic views of the landscape but also exudes a tranquil and contemplative atmosphere. The Gergeti Trinity Church stands as a must-visit destination on your Georgia tour, inviting you to immerse yourself in the rich tapestry of the country's cultural and spiritual heritage. As you ascend to this elevated sanctuary, you'll find a unique blend of architectural marvel and natural splendor, creating a truly memorable and reflective experience during your journey through Georgia.

After our exploration, we will proceed to Gudauri for lunch.

Next on our itinerary is the former capital of Georgia, Mtskheta, renowned for its historical churches that stand as exceptional examples of medieval religious architecture in the Caucasus region. Situated at the confluence of the Aragvi and Mtkvari Rivers.

Our journey continues as we ascend to the mountaintop to visit the magnificent Jvari Church, dating back to the 6th century AD. This iconic temple provides spectacular views of the confluence of the Aragvi and Mtkvari rivers, as well as the old capital, Mtskheta. The Jvari Church, characterized by its tetraconch architecture, featuring a round shape, four apses, and four niches, stands as a testament to Georgia's rich history and cultural heritage.  Overnight in Tbilisi
