DiscoverinStg Tbilisi’s Charm

Welcome to the Tbilisi tour! This is the city, where every cobblestone street tells a story. Every corner is a hidden gem waiting to be discovered. As a seasoned tour guide, I had the pleasure of picking up my enthusiastic guests at the Courtyard by Marriott Hotel. It was the beginning of an unforgettable exploration through the heart of Georgia’s capital.

Our walking tour started with the iconic Courtyard Marriott – A meeting point that sets the stage for an immersive experience. From there, we delved into the historic districts, wandering through the Old Town with narrow alleys and colorful facades. Each step brought us closer to the city’s rich history and unique blend of architecture influenced by Eastern and Western cultures.

Exploring Old Tbilisi Streets

Leaving Courtyard Marriott behind, we stepped into the heart of Old Tbilisi. The old city welcomed us with open arms, creating a cozy and calm atmosphere. Especially since it was the quieter low season. Despite a gentle winter breeze, the weather was surprisingly mild, making our exploration of Old Tbilisi even more enjoyable.

As we meandered through the narrow, winding streets, we couldn’t help but be captivated by the quaint charm that surrounded us. Old Tbilisi revealed itself as a hidden gem, adorned with centuries-old buildings painted in soft pastels and accented with charming balconies.

Hidden Gems of Tbilisi tour Unveiled

The cobblestone pathways led us through a storybook setting, where vibrant street art added pops of color to the aged walls. Cozy cafes nestled in corners invited us to pause and soak in the ambiance, while locals engaged in lively conversations creating a sense of community. The scent of freshly baked bread from traditional bakeries filled the air, tempting us to sample local treats.

In the hush of the winter winds, we felt the stories of centuries past come alive. Old Tbilisi, with its warmth and cultural richness, unfolded around us, making every step a delightful journey through the city’s history.

By the time the sun dipped, and the city was cloaked in dark, we found ourselves at the iconic Bridge of Peace. This dazzling structure emerged like a beacon, its shimmering lights reflected in the river Mtkvari below.

Beyond the well-trodden paths, we ventured into the hidden gems of Tbilisi. The Narikala Fortress, perched on a hill, offered panoramic views of the city, while the Sulfur Baths district enchanted us with its ancient allure. Navigating through these lesser-known treasures, our journey unfolded as a tapestry of experiences, revealing the soul of Tbilisi.

Ending Tbilisi tour on a High Note

And then, as the night deepened, our journey took an unexpected turn. We ventured into a local wine-tasting experience, where the rich flavors of Georgian wine unfolded like a symphony on our palates. The ambiance was cozy, the company delightful, and the pouring generous.

To our surprise, the gathering wasn’t exclusive to people; a friendly cat named Cappa joined us, adding an extra layer of warmth to the evening. In Tbilisi, a city that truly embraces both dogs and cats, this unexpected feline companion became a charming part of our group.

As we sipped the last drops of the exquisite Georgian wine, we couldn’t help but marvel at the uniqueness of Tbilisi. A city that welcomes both two-legged and four-legged residents with open arms. Our Tbilisi tour, enriched by the surprises and shared with the delightful company of locals and Cappa, concluded on a high note.

Tbilisi, a city that celebrates its history, modernity, and love for animals, left us with memories that lingered, much like the taste of the fine Georgian wine we savored. Until next time, Tbilisi, you’ve etched a special place in our hearts. See you in my blog soon.
